How many smiles can one Race Provide? (8 Photos)
On September 12th, we were at the City of Logan Tunnel to Towers 5k and it was a blast! The race was hosted in honor of Stephen Gerard Siller, who lost his life in the 9/11 attack in NYC.
The proceeds from the race were used to purchase presents and gifts for children in Logan, WV! I am sure you will see below, there were a lot of smiling faces (And a few tears in our eyes!), when the gifts were delivered last week.
As everyone knows, it takes A LOT of people (Elves?) behind the scenes to help throw together a fantastic event that ends up making some money for a charity. We thank these Elves for dedicating their time to help others! Wow a lot of people are charitable when the malls are decorated for the Holidays, this well planned event started the process in September!
The children were very excited to be receiving gifts this Holiday Season!
The volunteers from the race committee and the local Fire Dept. were thrilled to be able to do this for local children in need.
Her expression says it all!
All smiles :)
A donation or a registration fee can go a long way. Always for a good cause!
At TSR, we are going to work hard in 2016 to let our runner friends know just how great of an impact their registration fees and miles trained and race have on our community!
THANK YOU for helping children smile.
Stories like this keep TriStateRacer going, it is so wonderful to know that the work that our team does has such an effect long after we leave the race!
Thank you friends for helping us help others all year long!
