TriStateRacer.com to host the TSR 10th Anniversary $10 5k on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 9 AM at Ritter Park. This race will be one of the first to showcase the new and improved Ritter Park 5k course and also celebrate TriStateRacer.com’s 10th anniversary. This new course is made possible by the Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District.
The course is entirely done within the park, and does not cross any city streets. This new course will also provide a much safer running environment for local 5k’s, with no large intersections or vehicular traffic concerns. Having this available will provide more options and opportunities for road races in the area. Here are the details of the new course: Start at the new shelter, and follow the road towards 8th Street, staying slightly left. At 8th Street, turn right on the gravel path until you reach 13th Avenue. Make a right to stay on the gravel path, making your next turn a right at the path by 12th Street. Stay on the path to your right after crossing the bridge before the tennis courts. Continue on the path making a slight left, going under the 8th street Bridge. Follow the path parallel to North Blvd, turning around at the newly installed turn around point and 5k mid-marker sign prior to the bridge at 5th Street. Return in the opposite direction, ending back at the new shelter. The course is well marked with signs and a turnaround point for runners/walkers.
In honor of TriStateRacer.com's 10th Anniversary, registration starts at $10.00 per person. Participants have the option of adding on a t-shirt of their choice for an additional fee. There will also be a free Kid’s Quarter K (0.25k) for children ages 10 and under. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Greater Huntington Parks & Recreation District St. Cloud's All Inclusive Playground. To honor this effort, this is a full inclusion event, and those with mobility and social challenges are welcome. For more information or to register for the event visit TriStateRacer.com.
Pat Riley, Owner of TriStateRacer.com, “On this, our 10th Anniversary of TriStateRacer.com, we look back at everything that TSR has done through the years. I started the website because I couldn't find a local race to run on a Saturday morning, and now, it has become the hub for running in our community. TSR always has been and always will be FREE, for everyone to promote their events on our calendar, upload results and share photos! With over 205,000 finishers and over 1,500 races that have utilized our site over the years, it makes all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears completely worth it. Stay tuned, as we are always planning to grow TSR and help our local community out in every way possible. Thank you to everyone for your support, the TSR Timing Group looks forward to another awesome year! Our goal is to help the community by promoting fitness and raising millions for charity.”
