2019 Capital City Challenge

Course

Run, Row, Ride:

Flat and fast course in downtown Charleston. The race begins and ends at Magic Island.

10K:

The 10k event is an out and back course on Kanawha Boulevard.  The race begins at 9:00 a.m. at Magic Island in downtown Charleston.  The  10k will start and finish at Magic Island and  will be run entirely on Kanawha Boulevard.

Entry Fees

Run, Row, Ride:

Individual: $40 Thru June 30      $60 from July 1 - August 31;    $80 from September 1 - September 12 

Team Member (fee per team member) $35 thru June 30;  $55 from July 1 - August 31;  $75 from September 1 - Sept. 12

Those competing in the SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) category will pay the same fees depending on whether they are competing as a solo or with a team.

 

10K:

Race fees are $35 if registered by August 31.  The fee is $45 from September 1 - September 12.

Age Groups

Awards to top 3 male and female overall Age groups for male and female: 19 & Under 20 - 29 30 - 39 40 - 49 50 - 59 60 and Over

Awards will also be provided for those competing in the SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) category.

Awards

Run, Row, Ride:

Awards to top 3 overall - Male and Female Age Groups awards three deep in male and female divisions

Awards will also be awarded in the SUP division.

10K:

Awards will be given to the top three overall in the male and female divisions.

Awards will be provided to the top two - male and female - in the following age groups:

19 & under

20 - 29

30 - 39

40 - 49

50 - 59

60 & over

T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for those registering by August 31. 

You may enter either the Kayak or the SUP Division.  SUP's are Stand Up Paddleboards.  If you are interested in participating in this category but need a paddleboard or have questions about Stand Up Paddleboards or wish to rent a kayak, visit the website www.appalachianboardingcompany.com.

If river conditions are hazardous, this event, at the discretion of the Race Committee, could become a duathlon (run/ride).
