Course

The Route is predominately Cement and Asphalt Roadway or Wide Path. There is a short section of sidewalk towards the end of the race. The route is predominately flat with a few small hills along the way. The net gain is 66 feet. After an initial slope the route levels out until runners begin a run down from the top of Kanawha hill. There is a small incline just before turning on to Main Street at the Court House. The Race then begins what is predominately flat run until the finish, with a small decent toward the end of main street.

The moderately flat route was designed to showcase the awesomeness of Buckhannon WV. The spectator supported route will utilize the West Virginia Strawberry Festival Fireman’s Parade route passing through Buckhannon’s historic downtown district. The race will then continue through Buckhannon’s scenic River Walk and will finish at the water fountain on West Virginia Wesleyan’s beautiful campus.

3. The Race will be Professionally Tag Timed to ensure accurate times, create the ability to post immediate results and reduce any confusion and congestion at the finish line. The tag timing system will be professionally conducted and monitored by www.tristateracer.com

4. Awesome Spectator Support by running just prior to the WVSF Fireman's Parade. Great energy from the crowd will boost your energy and make the run more fun!

5. Awesome Strawberry Short Cake as well as other refreshments will be provided at the end of the race to celebrate being part of the West Virginia Strawberry Festival.

6. Awesome Route though Historic Downtown Buckhannon, though our Scenic River Walk Park and Finishing at West Virginia's Beautiful Campus. The Course is moderately flat with only a mild net gain in elevation - a PR race time is very possible.

7. Awesome Post Race Fair and Party. The race takes place during the WVSF. That means after the race you and your family can watch the parade, go to the fair grounds for rides and games or go downtown for PartyGras! It also means that while you race, the rest of the family will have something to do!
