Charity Information
In 2020, 39,000 West Virginians have Alzheimer’s disease and this number is expected to increase by 12.8 percent. In addition, over 107,000 family and friends are providing unpaid care to their loved ones. The Longest Day of the year, June 19, is a day the Alzheimer's Association shines a light on the long days caregivers have with their family and friends who are living with Alzheimer's. Our hope is to also light the path to find the First Survivor of this disease. We know the First Survivor is out there and we want to help lead the way and help those we love to hold on to everything the disease steals away.
Through your participation and donation, the Alzheimer’s Association is going to make it happen by funding research, advancing public policy and spurring scientific breakthroughs. Your donation will provide local support to those living with the disease and their caregivers, easing the burden for all those facing it until we accomplish our goal. But we won’t get there without you.
The West Virginia chapter is headquartered in Charleston, with regional offices located in Parkersburg, Martinsburg and Morgantown and we serve all fifty-five counties in West Virginia as well as Tazwell County, Virginia.
