Marshall University's Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Student Scholarship:

The Marshall University Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Scholarship was established in February 2018 by the President’s Commission on Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion for the purpose of awarding students who are enrolled at Marshall and meet the scholarship eligibility requirements.

The recipient(s) shall be in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher, who is a full-time student in an undergraduate program, and has demonstrated contributions to diversity, equality, or inclusion initiatives, in the area(s) of racial or ethnic diversity, sexual orientation or gender identity, disability, veteran status, and/or other areas underrepresented or otherwise important to diversity, equality, and inclusion.

This is a nonrenewable scholarship.  The Office of Student Financial Assistance shall make applications available and select recipient(s).

The fund will become endowed once a minimum of $15,000 is received.  Should the endowment level not be reached or the purpose for this fund no longer exist at Marshall University, or changes in the law impact the tax exempt status of the Marshall University Foundation, the Board of Directors of the Foundation may designate a purpose most consistent with the original intent of the donor.

More Information

To those of you who have not heard of a prediction run, here is how it works. All participants, of any age or gender, will make a prediction on how fast they will run, walk, skip, ride a bike or scooter, rollerblade, etc. a 5k. The goal is to be the person with the lowest time between when you actually complete the 5k vs. what you predicted you would complete the 5k in.
We’ll use the campus course, which includes 2 laps around the perimeter. At the starting line or before, any participant must remove their watch and phone and not receive any time coaching from anyone along the course. No finish line clocks will be used. Finish times will be posted after the race, during the awards ceremony.
When you register, you will need to submit the prediction time in which you think you will complete the 5k. This will be used to calculate your "final time". It is not about how fast you complete the 5k, but how close you are to predicting your finish line time!
This is a fun, low key opportunity to get together in a fun environment and the event is open to ALL to participate.
Please arrive prior to the start of the event to pick up your race bib before the Naked Run 5K. The event will be chip timed with mats at the start/finish. It will start on time at 7pm. Parking will be available in the stadium parking lot. Please do not park in the physical plant parking lot.
Remember - no timing devices of any kind are permitted during the race!
