Age Groups

This will be a holiday-themed fun run. The run will not be timed, but all participants will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt, a keepsake Christmas ornament and be treated to a Pancake breakfast with Santa immediately following the run in the Russell Middle School Cafeteria. The Pancake Breakfast is open to everyone - $6 adults; $4 children 4-12; 3 and under free. This is our annual Breakfast with Santa so bring the kids and a camera.

All entrants will receive a special Christmas ornament with the race name/date on it and to make it fun the sponsor - Kiwanis Club of East Greenup County, Ky. - will be offering several $25 gift cards for those who want to dress up in their best Christmas version of a reindeer, snowman, Christmas tree, elf, Grinch or use your imagination. T-shirts and ornaments will be mailed to runners approximately 7-10 days after the race so you should get them by Christmas.

Charity Information

The run is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of East Greenup County, Ky. Funds raised by this event will be used for several children's projects completed throughout the year, inluding donations to the Russell Fraternal Order of Police Lodge for their annual Shop with a Cop program, scholarships for Key Club seniors at Russell and Raceland high schools, the Greenup County Library's summer reading program, and unrestricted contributions to the Family Youth Service Centers at Greenup, Raceland and Russell school systems. This money provides school supplies, clothing and other necessities needed by a student.

More Information

This will be the third year for the Reindeer Run. The first run, in 2020, was a virtual event; last year the run was live for the first time. The weather was warm with light rain and the runners had a blast. What will the weather be this year? Who knows!
