Since 1912, the YWCA Charleston has been fostering self-sufficiency and independence. Originally designed as safe lodging for young women from rural communities coming to Charleston to pursue careers, the YWCA has evolved into the city’s most diverse and comprehensive network of social service programs. YWCA programs, facilities and services assist more than 5,000 individuals each year.
The 7th Annual YWCA Race To End Racism, presented by TC Energy, is a 5K/1 Mile Walk on Charleston's West Side on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
The Race to End Racism is an annual event that raises funds for the YWCA Racial Equity and Inclusion Program and brings the community together to raise awareness and celebrate diversity, while engaging the community to take part in the national YWCA campaign: Stand Against Racism, where YWCAs around the country organize consciousness-raising events in their communities.
Please stay after the race is complete to participate in our first ever Cultural Celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
