Course
The Outrun Type 1 5K offers a fast accurate course through the streets of Jackson. The course is rolling. There will be a lead police car and traffic control at all intersections. The course is well marked. USATF Certified Course ID# OH 13008 MW, Certification effective 04/09/2013 to 12/31/2023.
Entry Fees
Preregistration is $25.00. Race day registration is $30.00. Strongly suggest Preregistration as it will ensure a shirt in your size. Prices are $5.00 more this year because we are giving a much nicer shirt.
Age Groups
Male and female age groups are as follows: under 12, 13-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over.
Awards
Team with the most registered participants will be awarded the Event Trophy. Participant in 5 k run, 5k walk. Plaques will be awarded to the top man and female overall runners. Medals to the top 3 finishers in each age groups. No duplication of awards. Special recognition for first time 5K runners and walkers. Plaques to the first overall male and female walkers. (Walkers must walk the entire course without running.)
Charity Information
Proceeds of 5K will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
More Information
This will be the second Annual Outrun Type 1 5K. We hope to raise awareness and support families who deal with this disease. Our goal is to support local families, provide awareness and education in the communities and schools. Proceeds of this run will go to JDRF to support the research that will someday cure Juvenile / Type 1 Diabetes.
