19th Annual Jackson County Freedom Fest 5K Run and Walk

Course
The Freedom Fest 5K offers a fast certified course through the streets of Jackson. The course is rolling. Andrea Ross won last year with a time of 15:30.7 and Lisa Culbertson was the first woman with a 18:09.9. There will be a lead police car and traffic control at all intersections. The course is well marked. In 2014 207 runners and walkers completed the race. In 2014 a total of 28 runners were under 20:00. USATF Certified Course ID# OH 13008 MW, Certification effective 04/09/2013 to 12/31/2023.
Entry Fees
Preregistration is $20.00 and race day registration is $25.00 and includes a Dri-Fit running shirt. The $20.00 preregistration fee will ensure a Dri-Fit running shirt in your size. If you register prior to June 22nd you have an option to select a V-Neck or youth sized Dri-Fit tee shirts. Checks may be may payable to the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce and mailed to the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, 234 Broadway Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640
Age Groups
Male and female age groups are as follows: under 12, 13-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over. Special recognition for first time 5K runners and walkers. Walkers must walk the entire course without running.
Awards
Plaques will be awarded to the top three man and female runners. Medals to the top three finisher in running age groups. No duplication of awards. Male and female running age groups are as follows: under 12, 13-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over. Special recognition for first time 5K runners and walkers. Walkers must walk the entire course without running. Walk Classes Awards: Plaques for the 1st Male, 1st Female, 1st Girl 12 or younger and 1st Boy 12 or younger.

This will be the 19th annual running of the Jackson County Freedom Fest 5K. Timing Services by TriStateRacer.com Chip timing will be used and results will be posted on the www.TriStateRacer.com website immediate following the event. The use of chip timing will greatly reduce the award presentation time. Online registration will be available at www.TriStateRacer.com and there will be special recognition for first time 5K runners and walkers. The course is certified by the USATF, Certified Course ID# OH 13008 MW, Certification effective 04/09/2013 to 12/31/2023.Run of a fast certified course and celebrate the 4th of July in Jackson,Ohio. The race is sponsored by the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce and is part of Jackson,s 4th of July celebration.
