The third annual HallowEast Zombie 5K is set to plague the streets of Charleston's historic East End on Saturday evening, October 31 starting the corner of Elizabeth and McClung Street near the UC Stadium (formerly Laidley Field) As a part of Charleston Main Streets - East End HallowEast 7, the Scared Sprintless Zombie 5K Run/Walk is a unique after dark road race that is sure to be the most thrilling 5K experience of your life. The race features 5 zombie attack on a route through Charleston's historic East End and downtown. 50% percent of participant registration will be donated to The Charleston Parkinson’s Support Group and 50% will be donated to support the revitalization efforts of Charleston’s East End. Participants can do a traditional run/walk or participate in the zombie run portion, which, at several intervals on the course, zombies will chase humans in an attempt to take those "life flags," (i.e. flag football flags) Participants are encouraged to dress in costume, because running in costume with hundreds of other zombie apocalypse survivors is way more fun than running on a treadmill in your fancy sneakers with a heart monitor. Or maybe that heart monitor will come in handy, who knows? Each runner/walker packet will include a Scared Sprintless HallowEast Zombie Run T-shirt (guaranteed to pre-registrants), general race information, a race bib, and special Survivor's discount of 50% off the Ticket to the HallowEast Costume Pub Crawl (starting right after the conclusion of the race). This is a $10 savings to fully participate in the HallowEast Costume Crawl which will feature drink and food specials from 9 different East End pubs and restaurants, live music on the street, beer/food vendors, and an evening-long costume contest with awesome prizes.

All pre-registrants are guaranteed a shirt and Scared Sprintless drawstring bag with their packet at check-in

General Registration
October 11 – 31, 2015
Individual: $45
Group (4+ persons): $40 per runner/walker
Those registering after the pre-registration deadline are not guaranteed a shirt with their packet at check-in

The Third Annual HallowEast Zombie 5K Run/Walk has a new name, but is still as frightening as ever! Scared Sprintless: Fight the Dead, Fear the Living will benefit the local charity, The Charleston Parkinson’s Support Group. This local support group plays an important role for people living with a chronic neurological disorder like Parkinson’s disease. The Charleston Parkinson’s Support Group is a local non-profit organization that supports those in the Kanawha Valley living with Parkinson’s Disease. If you live in the Charleston area and are living with Parkinson’s disease, either as a caregiver, family member or a person with Parkinson’s, the support group meets every third Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in South Charleston. 

The Charleston Parkinson’s Support Group goal is to provide West Virginia specific information that will help you or your loved one live a fulfilling live with Parkinson’s disease. If you are looking for a doctor, we have a list of the physicians in the area that specializes in Parkinson’s disease. The support group will also helps to inform those about PD specific events, exercise programs and provide you with other terrific information about living with Parkinson’s disease.

In addition to Scared Sprintless providing an incredible way to raise money for our local Parkinson’s support group, half of every race registration will go toward further revitalization efforts on the East End, including business and economic development, public art initiatives, and district-wide marketing and promotion.
