Course

The Red Devil Hill 5K Challenge is a 5 kilometer (3.1 miles) course starting and ending at Russell High School. Runners will race on the streets of Russell, KY 41169. Runners will start out in the parking lot on the right side of the high school. Runners will turn right onto Red Devil Lane then right again on Seaton Drive, right onto Cardinal Rd and down Cardinal Hill, right onto Kenwood Drive, around Bridges Christian Church, right onto Diederich Boulevard, then right onto Red Devil Lane and up Red Devil HIll. Runners will turn right into the parking lot on the left side of Russell High School (gymnasium side) and finish near the back of the building. The course is flat in many parts, features a large downhill section, and challenges runners to conquer Red Devil Lane at the end before sprinting to the finish. The course is closed, well marked with cones and signage, and will be monitored by the City of Russell Police Department, race workers, and volunteers.

Awards

Awards ceremony and door prizes will be presented following the race at Russell High School. Medals will be given to top three overall male and female, top three male and female in each age division, and top three in the stroller division. The top team (of 5 or more) will be recognized (based on cross country scoring) and the top three K9 finishers and stroller division finishers will also receive awards. We will have random drawing for door prizes by bib numbers.
