Course
The Monster Dash 5K Challenge is a 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) costume themed race starting and ending at Russell McDowell Intermediate School, 1900 Long Street Flatwoods, KY 41139. Runners will race on the streets of Flatwoods in costume! The course is mostly flat with an uphill section in two places. There will be a Bash prior to the race with carnival themed fun (12:00-5:00). All proceeds from the race will benefit the Russell McDowell Intermediate School’s playground fund for a new playground.
Entry Fees
- $20 pre-registration before October 1st!
- $25 postmarked after October 1st and on race day
- $15 group registration (must have a group of 8 or more people)
- We will have a kid run around the soccer field. If you feel your child cannot complete 5k route due to distance, you can sign them up for the kid run for $10.00 a child. They will receive a t-shirt as well (if pre-registered), and rewards will be given in this category! In addition, we will have activities for kids to participate on the soccer field during the race!

- Registration and fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE
- Pre-registered racers may pick up race packets Friday (October 7th from 6:00-7:00 at Russell McDowell Intermediate School.

Awards
Awards ceremony and door prizes will be presented following the race at Russell McDowell Intermediate School. There will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd place medals for the kid run as well. Medals will be given to top three overall male and female, top three male and female in each age category. The top team (of 5 or more) will be recognized. We will have random drawings for door prizes by bib numbers.
