This run/walk fundraiser will provide funds for our Madison Rotary Club Scholarship Fund which benefits local deserving high school graduates by helping them reach their goal of obtaining a college education.

The event is in memory of the late R. B. Foster, a Rotarian and recipient of the Madison Rotary Club Citizen of the Year award. R. B. was well known throughout Boone County for his many acts of kindness and community service. He was a retired coal miner with over 40 years of service in the coal industry. He received special honors for his work with the Boy Scouts. He served many years on the Boone Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, and was a long-time member of the Odd Fellows and Masonic Lodge, and was a member of the Madison United Methodist Church. Sadly, R. B. passed away on November 29, 2014. The contributions he made to society through the many lives he touched will not be forgotten.

Established in the spring of 1925, for 91 years the Madison Rotary club has continued to be a positive force for good in our community. Through a variety of fundraisers, the Rotarians have sponsored and contributed to numerous worthy causes, supporting programs and projects that have benefitted people of all ages.

Through the years, our Rotary Club has joined Rotary International in helping people in communities around the world, however, the local project that we Rotarians are the most proud of is our Rotary Scholarship Fund that provides monetary scholarships to our community's youth. Since we began the scholarship fund more than two decades ago, the Madison Rotary Club has awarded scholarships totaling over $150,000 to dozens of local graduates who have excelled academically as well as having a record of outstanding community service.

Thank You for participating and supporting our 5K honorning our friend R.B.
