Course

A USTF Certfed Coures thorugh the streets of Jackson, Ohio. The start and finish are on the Apple Festival midway. The course is rolling with no major hills. 

Entry Fees

Registrations:

Advance Registration can be made at www.tristateracer.com with payment of $25.00 made from your credit card of choice through September 19th.  Go to this website and select Kiwanis Apple 5K Run/Walk.  Advance registration must be made prior to September 19th.  A $3.75 fee will be applied for on-line registrations to cover credit card payment, and processing. Late and raceday registartion at $30.00 after September 19th.  

If you are unable to register on-line, please mail a completed form to Greg Ervin, 1601 Mt. Zion Road, Jackson, OH 45640. Checks should be made payable to the Jackson Area Kiwanis Club.

Age Groups

Runners will be grouped into Youth, Adult Male and Adult Female age groups: Youth ages 3-10, 11-14, 15-19; Adult 20-25, 26-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-59, 60-69, 70 and older. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in the Youth 3-10, 11-14 and 15-19 male and female age groups. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st place male and female runners in the Adult age groups. Ribbons will be awarded to the 2nd, and 3rd place in the Adult male and female 20-25, 26-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-59, 60-69, 70 and older age groups. Special awards are given to the First Male Runner and First Female Runner.

Walkers are all one age group for Male, and one age group for Female, with a trophy for the 1st place walker and ribbons to the 2nd, and 3rd place walkers,  plus a special award for the Overall Walker (Male or Female).  Walkers must walk, No Running

Charity Information

The race/walk is sponsored and conducted by the Kiwanis Club of Jackson Area and held during the traditional Apple Festival week. The Jackson Apple Festival is sponsored by the Jackson Area Festival & Events (JAFE). All profits go to help the Kiwanis Club fund activities and scholarships for the youth of Jackson County. The Jackson Area Kiwanis Club sponsors many charities in the Jackson County including but not limited to the following: American Cancer Society, July 4th Family Fun Carnival in the Park, Downtown Flower Baskets, Scholarships for three County High School Seniors, sponsor three High School Students to the Hugh O'Brien Youth Seminar and a County-Wide Easter Egg Hunt, with over 20,000 Easter Eggs. 

More Information

If due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jackson Apple Festival is cancelled for 2023 the Kiwanis Club of Jackson Area will  move the Kiwanis Apple 5K to a virtual format. Save the date of Saturday, September 21, 2024 for an opportunity to run the USATF certified course through the streets of Jackson during the Jackson Apple Festival.
