Course

The race will begin at the Tug Boat Deopt in Star City. The race will go 1.5 miles down the trail, loop around and run back. The whole 5K will be on a paved trail. This section of trail is relatively flat terrain.

Entry Fees

The early registration fee is $25.00 until October 8, 2016.  The registration fee until November 6 is $35.00. November 7 until Race day, registration is $40.00.

Charity Information

The West Virginia Family Grief Center provides bereavement peer support groups for kids, teens, parents/gaurdians and adults in our community.  All of the Grief Center services are provided free of charge to our families. The Grief Center is a Safe Place to Heal.

More Information

Children's Grief Awareness Day is traditionally observed on the Thursday before Thanksgiving. In observance of Children's Grief Awareness Day and to spread the word about Grief Center support in our community we are hosting our 1st annual 5k walk/run. As part of the 5k we will be offering a butterfly rememberance activity.  The butterfly rememberance can be in honor of a loved one or in support of a grieving child (participation is voluntary).
